Explorer Belt Talk

Cathal Breathnach (1st Galway St. Joseph’s) and Fionn Delahunty (Galway Sea Scouts) will be giving a talk on their our trip to Germany on the Explorer Belt during the summer onSaturday 5th December at 7.30pm in the 1st Galway Den on Augustine Street. 1st Galway Get Gold at Phoenix 2015

The Fox Patrol, eight Scouts from Galway competed in the Phoenix Challenge, the Scouts national camping competition, at Salesian College, Pallaskenry at the end of August. The eight teenagers, aged between 13 and 15, won the coveted Gold Award for achieving over 80% of the available marks and came 13th out of almost 100 patrols in attendance  from all over Ireland. Explorer Belt 2015

One of our Rover / Scout Leaders Cathal, took part in the Explorer Belt Expedition this Summer to Germany. This was a 200km expedition across an unknown part of Germany involving living off a limited budget of €75 for ten days for two people, completing a number of projects, working on two special interest badges and learning as much about Germany as possible. Scouts at Phoenix Training Camp

Our Phoenix Fox Patrol headed out to Renville last Monday for a pre Phoenix camp. The Phoenix is the national campcarft competition and this year it will take place in Pallaskenry, Co. Limerick. A team of 8 will take part in the competition and they planned this camp to get some practice in setting up their campsite and working as a team ahead of the long weekend in August.
