The 1st Galway welcomes men and women, 18 years of age and over, who to wish work directly with children and/or teens. We offer those interested the opportunity to BECOME A LEADER.

Leaders work directly with our members and help plan weekly meetings and all activities. All leaders participate in these meetings as well as the activities which take place during meeting times and on some weekends.

If you have creative skills, knowledge of cooking, arts and crafts, children’s games, woodworking, this might be a nice opportunity to share these skills with young people. An interest in outdoor activities e.g. hiking, camping, is also most welcomed. Even if you don’t have any outdoor skills, an enthusiasm to work with young people is all you need, as a leader you will go through various stages of training to become a fully competent leader.

Please visit our sections on our website that refer to the various levels of Scouting we offer and see which age group you would most like to work with:

Just come down to any meeting if you’re interested in becoming a leader or else simply contact us for more information.
